LEIKO IKEMURA. HERE WE ARE

The Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències hosts the free access exhibition “Leiko Ikemura. Here we are”, a series of six sculptures by the Japanese artist Leiko Ikemura, the most significant exhibition of the artist in Spain.

The exhibition is located on the southern lake of the Hemisfèric, seeming to float on the waters, and its presence is amplified by the surroundings where the buildings of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències are located.

All the silent figures in this exhibition secretly hint at new and unknown creatures, a lyrical poetry within the framework of a structural epic surrounded by Calatrava's architecture.

Leiko Ikemura was born in Tsu, Mie Prefecture, Japan. He currently lives and works in Berlin, Germany. She is an internationally renowned artist with major exhibitions in major museums and institutions around the world.

Places like the National Art Center in Tokyo, the Kunstmuseum in Basel in Switzerland, and the Sainsbury Center for Visual Arts in Norwich, UK, among others.
