The Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències is hosting Interval, an exhibition made up of nine reinforced concrete and steel sculptures by the artist Ruud Kuijer. The display, which can be accessed free of charge, is located along the Umbracle's Promenade of Art and can be visited until June 10th, 2018.

In Interval, spaces and materials are in constant dialog. The exhibition is the result of the artist's experiments with balance, gravity, shapes, and objects. Each sculpture is totally self-contained, an object in itself.

Ruud Kuijer is a Dutch sculptor who is especially known for his monumental Waterworks, a set of large-scale sculptures located along the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal in the city of Utrecht. The tradition of classic and contemporary sculpture plays a significant role in his work. He originally used materials such as iron, screws, carpet, rope, and wood; however, in recent years, concrete has been the dominating material in his work.
