The Cure start their Spanish tour on 5th March at the City of Arts and Sciences as part of the MTV Winter concert

“The Cure” will head the list of singers in the first edition of MTV Winter concert, to be held on 5th March 2008 at the City of Arts and Sciences. It will be the first concert of the British band in their Spanish tour. Admission to the Valencia concert will be free of charge. 
The Cure start their Spanish tour on 5th March at the City of Arts and Sciences as part of the MTV Winter concert The singers of “Boys don´t cry” or “Close to me” will open the MTV Winter concert. The event will bring to Valencia a series of free concerts during the next four years, the City of Arts and Sciences so becoming a reference point for music in Europe. The concert’s full programme will be announced soon.

With this new proposal, the City of Arts and Sciences gives citizens a unique opportunity to enjoy the music of leading figures from the international music scene, live and free of charge. In doing so, the institution fulfils one of its major goals, namely citizen participation.

In this way, the City of Arts and Sciences contributes to making culture more dynamic in Valencia city and the Valencia region, facilitating access to activities other than those commonly offered by the complex and at a different time.

After more than three decades on stage, Robert Smith’s band will demonstrate the power of their live shows in Valencia. Before presenting the songs of the new double album they are now preparing, The Cure will sing their classic hits at the City of Arts and Sciences.

The editions of this music event will have a huge impact worldwide, reaching a potential audience of 207 million people from Europe, the United States and Latin America. MTV is the largest world television network and a leading global multimedia brand with young people.
