The City of Arts and Sciences offers the public a multitude of activities to make learning fun based on science, culture and nature

Safe Tourism Certified

The Museu de les Ciències opens to the public from 10am to 9pm. Both the Hemisfèric and the Museu de les Ciències have received the 'Safe Tourism Certified' seal created by the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE), which certifies the popular education complex as a safe place to visit.

In addition, the Hemisfèric is offering a varied program that includes up to six different documentaries on nature, adventure and astronomy.

The facilities of the Museu and the Hemisfèric have been adapted to guarantee the safety of visitors and staff with health and hygiene measures, protective barriers and signage to permit social distancing.

Panoramic views

The visitors to the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències, for the first time, can enjoy visits to the cantilever of the Museu de les Ciències.

These visits, which are included in the tickets to the Museu de les Ciències have been opened up to groups of up to 30 people. This is the southern cantilever, the highest one and the one that looks out toward the Umbracle, from which spectacular panoramic views of the whole complex can be enjoyed, from the Hemisfèric, the Palau de les Arts, the Ágora and the lake area, in addition to the former riverbed of the Turia and the city.

Wild Nature and journeys to space in the Hemisfèric

The Hemisfèric’s program includes up to six different documentaries on nature, adventure and astronomy. From the first session, at 11am, to the last, scheduled for 8pm, the public can choose from the films ‘America Wild. National parks adventure’, 'Volcanoes', 'Secrets of the Universe', 'Walking with dinosaurs: prehistoric planet 3D", “Dream big” y 'Journey to space. Next stop: Mars'.

“America Wild. National parks adventure” tours some of the most famous nature parks of the United States. Dizzying canyons, mountain landscapes, ice and snow, lakes with crystal-clear water and forests of giant trees filmed in Yosemite, Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, National Glacier Park and the Everglades are some of the spectacular places shown in this Hemisfèric film. The IMAX film 'Volcanoes' tells the story of how Earth was formed and shows spectacular images, from an active volcano in Indonesia to the city of Pompeii.

The film 'Secrets of the Universe' introduces the public to particle physics with the Large Hadron Collider of the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN). 'Walking with dinosaurs: prehistoric planet 3D’, featuring computer-animated dinosaurs against real backgrounds, takes viewers to the Alaska of the Cretaceous through the story of two young Pachyrhinosauri (large herbivorous dinosaurs).

In 'Journey to Space. Next stop: Mars’ shows the challenges that NASA and the space industry must overcome to carry out future missions on Mars or to capture asteroids. ‘Dream Big’ offers a new perspective on engineering beyond mathematics and science with the goal of winning the hearts and minds of the next generation of engineers.  From the Great Wall of China and the highest buildings in the world to underwater robots, solar cars and intelligent cities, "Big Dream" uses a series of inspiring stories to show you the world hidden behind the most exciting inventions and structures in the world

The Hemisfèric will be closed from July 27th to 30th due to the installation of the new fulldome system
