Jorge Vela has pointed out once again the Eclectic Festival "presents a different top quality cultural and artistic programme ranging from multimedia shows, theatre to dance or music concerts, to which everyone is invited to come and enjoy all these artistic initiatives staged at the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias".

CAC’s genera director said that the Eclectic Festival has become one of the most important cultural events of the summer and reminded us that in its five years of existence “it has given us the opportunity to see -live and at a unique venue- international figures from different fields among many other artistic proposals”.

Eclectic 2006 will begin on Saturday 15th July with Xarxa Teatre. Based on a poem by Ausias March, the show "Veles e Vents" is" an ecological tribute to the sea", as Mónica Gozalbo, director of Xarxa Teatre’s tour, explained, for whom this current work presents “two types of sea, one calm and benevolent and the other apocalyptic which, in recent years has become a dump for human and petrol waste". Also as an actress in this company, she added that the line of this show’s argument, which has been especially adapted for representation on the lake of the Museo de las Ciencias, "is a reflection on the question of what we are doing to the sea and whether we can change”.
