L’Oceanogràfic of the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias has organised, for the second year running, the Summer School, aimed at children between the ages of 6 and 12. This Thursday, 20th July, among other activities, sixty children have participated at 10 a.m. in a baptism in the sea, in the afternoon a gymkhana and at night sleep in the “Océanos” tower surrounded by sharks.

For five days and supervised by specialist monitors, the participants have enjoyed various workshops and games in the L\'Oceanogràfic as well as a film at the L\'Hemisfèric entitled  "The Shackleton Adventure", and a visit to the Museo de las Ciencias Príncipe Felipe where they have taken part in a Science on Stage session.

Moreover, this year two new activities have been included: the "Baptism in the Sea" in which the children, after getting to know the theory and the materials required to undertake a dive, experience the world of diving for the first time, and "Sleeping with Sharks", where they spend the night in the Océanos tower surrounded by sharks.

The Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias has, therefore, become a cultural and entertainment resource for children who have chosen to start their summer holidays in a very special way. The Summer School, in which a total of 183 children have taken part, has been held in three stages, from 26th to 30th June, from 10th to 14th July and from 17th to 21st July.
