The City of Arts and Sciences celebrates Christmas

Dec 15, 2009

The City of Arts and Sciences celebrates Christmas The City of Arts and Sciences has prepared a series of special activities to be held over the Christmas season. Specifically, the Science Museum will be providing new contents aimed at children, and will extend the timetable of some activities. In the Hemisfèric (IMAX and full dome), the new film “Animalopolis” will show us how some of the most fascinating animals on the planet live.

From 21st December to 6th January 2010, the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum will be showing scientific films in its special Christmas programme. In addition, children who visit the “Marvel Superheroes” exhibition will have the chance to colour in one of these characters or paint their face as if they were the Hulk or Spiderman, among others.

Furthermore, visitors to the Museum will be able to enjoy a “ride in a balloon,” which will take them up in a helium balloon to the building’s third floor. Questions are put to children by the virtually animated “Sinforoso, the most curious of superheroes” as he tells them how he will be spending Christmas in the company of friends and characters from other exhibitions, in another of the initiatives put forward by the Museum for the Christmas season.

On the Museum’s Main Street, children up to 12 years of age will be able to have fun with the different educational toys whilst the “Decorate your Christmas tree” film will allow the youngest visitors to build many-sided figures to decorate the Christmas tree. All those who visit the Museum on these days will also be able to enjoy themselves in the company of the “Bigheads of Science”, the most fun scientists who will be livening up the Museum this Christmas.

New film, Animalopolis

Furthermore, on 19th December the Hemisfèric will be introducing “Animalopolis” into its programme, an original and fun journey through the animal world. Cheetahs that run like Ferraris, operatic lions and jittery crabs are just some of the stars of this new film that the City of Arts and Sciences will be screening this Christmas on Saturdays at 5:00 pm and Sundays at 12:00 noon.
