The Oceanogràfic (aquarium) holds the European Union of Aquarium Curators' Congress

The Oceanogràfic (aquarium) holds the European Union of Aquarium Curators' Congress From 28th October to 1st November, the City of Arts and Sciences’ Oceanogràfic will be holding the 26th Congress of the European Union of Aquarium Curators (EUAC), whose main aim will be to encourage communication between the specialists that work in these kinds of facilities and who at the same time collaborate with the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EAZA).

130 experts are expected to attend from a total of 62 mainly European aquariums, although they will also come from China, Japan, the United States and Kuwait. Different aspects regarding the management of large aquariums will be dealt with during the conference, such as the care and conservation of species, veterinary matters, and management, technology and quality as regards the water. Among the subjects to be presented, one may highlight those related to the reproduction of unusual species and sustainability applied to the management of aquariums.

Furthermore, the Oceanographic, which has been a member of EUAC since it opened in 2003, will be presenting the results of its work on the veterinary side of aquatic animals, fish parasitiology, and care for Mediterranean invertebrates and the rehabilitation of marine turtles.
