From the 4th to the 8th of July the Science Museum hosts the 5th IT Campus, covering the latest innovations in Telemedicine and communication networks

The regional secretary for Events and Projects, Luis Lobón, stated that for the fifth year running, the City of Arts and Sciences is hosting "the first Summer School in Spain specialising in Science and Technology: the IT Campus, an event that bring us closer to the innovations and advances achieved in this field. This event is now a must for IT fans".
Lobón pointed out that the event "shares in the objective pursued by the Science Museum, to disseminate science and culture, and in this way the Museum once again becomes a landmark for technological Exchange with the help of the Valencian Government\'s support for these kinas of forums". He also explained that this year, the meeting will be looking at the new technology in telemedicine in the course entitled Technology Applied to Health, as well as the latest developments in communication networks in the course on Security in Wi-fi and Wimax networks.
The vice-chancellor of the University of Valencia, Vicente Cerverón, expressed his pleasure at taking part in the IT Campus "for which we have provided the academia management". He also pointed out that the courses "contribute to the interface between professionals and researchers, fostering wider knowledge in society". He also highlighted the collaboration of the Valencia regional government through the City of Arts and Sciences "whose Science Museum has now become a landmark in the World of science and technology events".
The Director of the IT Campus, Alejandro Borges, declared that this event furthers "a sharing of experiences among professionals and students" and thanked the "continued support of the Valencian government and in particular the City of Arts and Sciences, which have made this fifth IT Campus possible, a meeting place for sharing the latest developments and technologies".
The course on Security in Wi-fi and Wimax networks, on the 4th and 5th of July, is led by Santiago Felici, PhD in Telecommunications Engineering and Lecturer at the University of Valencia. This course will analyse the need to make remote access to information not only possible but also secure, as guaranteed security favours the development of new functions and capacities which in turn require more sophisticated technology.
The course on Technology Applied to Health, on the 7th and 8th of July, is led by Miguel Chavarría, head of radiological data and digital imaging implementation and monitoring at the X-Ray Diagnosis Service of La Fe University Hospital. The course looks into the implementation of telemedicine in Spain, from x-rays to tele-ophthalmology, and analyses its future potential, as well as presenting practical applications, such as health networks for regions or the revolutionary treatment for chronic disease and the transformation of the traditional home into an intelligent home that provides remote medical care services.
