Inauguración de la exposición de Arne Quinze en Alicante

The 'My Secret Garden' exhibition from the Belgian artist Arne Quinze is on exhibit from today on Pier 2 in the Port of Alicante. The showing has been opened today in the presence of the artist himself, the mayor of Alicante Luis Barcala and the director of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències, Enrique Vidal.

It is beginning a tour throughout Spain in collaboration with the Fundación Gabarrón, and as the first stop, the exhibition is being shown in another exceptional setting as is Pier 2 in the Port of Alicante, thanks to the support and collaboration of the Councillorship of Culture of the Council of Alicante and the port of Alicante.

'My Secret Garden' is made up of six exclusive pieces in acrylic on aluminium created by the artist for the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències setting, where it was exhibited for a year before travelling to Alicante. With this, the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències has taken its commitment to public art and the idea of an open-air museum to Alicante.

Each one of the public sculptures in 'My Secret Garden' deals with the rich diversity of shapes, structures and colours encountered in the Plantae (plant kingdom). The artist calls for a profound dialogue between nature and culture in the development of our modern society. He challenges his public with unconventional sculptures, encouraging a sociocultural conversation which stimulates creativity and embraces diversity.
