The City of Arts and Sciences’ Hemisferic is introducing the IMAX film 'Amazon' into its programme next 1st October, a film that takes viewers on an extraordinary journey along the world's largest river basin to discover its extraordinary biological wealth and its inhabitants, as well as the healing powers of some of its native plants.
The new movie on the Hemisfèric’s big screen provides a message about conservation and respect for the environment, telling the story of two medicine men who come from very different worlds but who share a mission in common: the search for the medicinal qualities contained by more than 60,000 plants that live on the Amazon’s banks.
Throughout the journey, the public tour the Amazon region from its source in the Andes. They go through the tropical forests in South America and discover a collection of exotic animals such as jaguar, tapir, piranhas and pink dolphins. They also discover how some of the tribes that inhabit the area live, such as the Zöe.
