Gerardo Camps thanked Air Nostrum for their collaboration and support of the City of Arts and Sciences Foundation, emphasising that “thanks to this agreement, Air Nostrum will distribute the magazine Idea free of charge among its passengers, thus supporting the spread of cultural and scientific knowledge driven by the City of Arts and Sciences”. He pointed out that “thousands of travellers will have this scientific and cultural magazine published by the Foundation at their disposal”.
The Regional Minister for Economy, Employment and Inland Revenue explained that Air Nostrum will give discounts on airline tickets for journeys made to conferences and events organised by the City of Arts and Sciences Foundation.
Among the events organised in 2005 by the City of Arts and Sciences Foundation, the Minister highlighted the lectures for the Premios Cátedra Santiago Grisolía 2005, an International Symposium on Multiple Sclerosis, an International Symposium on New Developments in Reproductive Medicine, and the 2nd International Symposium on New Developments in Cancer.
Gerardo Camps pointed out that in this way, Air Nostrum is working together with the City of Arts and Sciences Foundation to organise “these prestigious scientific forums, furthering the sharing of experience and knowledge between experts and making this great complex a meeting place for scientific dialogue”.
The Minister of Economy also emphasised that in the first quarter of this year, the City of Arts and Sciences has been visited by almost one million people. 25% of these were from the Valencia region, 60% from the rest of Spain and 15% were foreign visitors.
The Chief Executive of Air Nostrum, Carlos Bertomeu, indicated that the agreement “lies in the context of this company’s sponsorship policies which, in line with our responsibility to put back some of the profits that we generate, support research, education and culture”.
Carlos Bertomeu stated that the City of Arts and Sciences “gives the city high-quality cultural content and for us, this sponsorship agreement is a good investment, as this complex has been a salutary lesson for Valencia, changing it from a city that sends out tourists to one that receives them”.
The Chief Executive of Air Nostrum emphasised “the success of the City of Arts and Sciences project”, adding that “the prosperity of this complex and of the city of Valencia means prosperity for Air Nostrum".
