The Museu de les Ciències unveils the new 'Science Theatre' this weekend

The Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències unveils the 'Science Theatre' this Saturday 26 September, one of the novelties this autumn at the Museu de les Ciències. Located on the first floor, it is an area where scientific shows are carried out, revealing concepts, techniques and processes that originate from the knowledge of science and technology.

This area replaces the previous Theatre of Electricity launched in 2009. This theatrical activity has been very popular among visitors, which is why they wanted to renew and update the area, and improve the experience.

The Science Theatre is a multidisciplinary area where demonstrations, shows and scientific productions are staged. The idea is to increase scientific culture with this area, to bring science closer to citizens, reveal concepts and techniques, and comprehend scientific knowledge as integrated knowledge structured in different disciplines.

Bells that ring without touching them, candles that blow out using a metal rod without the need to blow them, jumping rings, electric arcs that cross space, or neon tubes that light up when touching the ends, are some of the experiences that literally make our hair stand on end in the “High Voltage” show, which is part of the Science Theatre. One of the most remarkable features is the Tesla Coil: an electromagnetic generator with spectacular effects, such as bolts over a metre long.
