The City of Art and Sciences and CAM organise workshops for the disabled at L\'Oceanogràfic

The General Manager of the City of Arts and Sciences, Jorge Vela, the Director General of Social Integration of the Disabled Francisco Villena and the chief executive of Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo (CAM), Enrique Ros, today presented the programme of guided visits and workshops for the disabled: “Come and sail the seven seas”, which will be held at the Education and Research Building of L\'Oceanogràfic at the City of Arts and Sciences.

Protected areas of the Valencia region, in ¿Tuesdays at L´Oceanogràfic¿

The City of Arts and Sciences today continues its series “Tuesdays at L’Oceanogràfic” with the lecture on “Protected areas in the Valencia region: from Columbretes to Benidorm. Managing the conflict between conservation and recreational usage”, which will be given by Juan Jiménez of the Department of Land and Housing. Protected areas will be the central theme of the talk, which will be preceded by a documentary film.

The Hemisfèric starts a series of conferences on the Nile

The Hemisfèric of the City of the Arts and Sciences has organised several lectures that will explain some of the secrets of the Nile, the great African river. In these talks we will get to know three different visions of this historical watercourse. The writer and journalist Javier Reverte will contribute his point of view, based on literature and travel writing, with tomorrow’s lecture "Exploring the Nile" (Thursday 28 April in the Cinema Hall of the Hemisfèric).

Tomorrow (Thursday 28 April) in the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum an astronomical session to observe Jupiter will be held. This activity is part of the series "Astronomy at the Museum 2005", which includes lectures and observation sessions with telescopes and which is being held in the City of the Arts and Sciences for the second year running in collaboration with the the Valencia Astronomy Association (Asociación Valenciana de Astronomía, AVA).

The Palau de les Arts has capacity for over 4,000 people at a time in its four auditoriums, which have state-of-the-art technology for opera, music, dance and theatre. El Director General de la Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, Jorge Vela, inaugura mañana la exposición ¿Tiburones¿ en el Oceanográfico, una muestra ubicada en el Edificio de Acceso y que podrá visitarse hasta el 31 de julio.
