The Hemisfèric installs a full dome digital projection system
As from November the Hemisfèric of the City of the Arts and Sciences will include the most advanced full dome digital projection system currently available. This new kind of projection will allow viewers to immerse themselves in the world of astronomy and digital animation. As a result of the installation of this system, the Projection Hall of the Hemisfèric will be closed from 15 to 31 October.
With this projection system the Hemisfèric will be able to offer two kinds of digital shows, both digital projections of non astronomical themes and digital planetariums, that relate to astronomy and the cosmos.
The images will cover the whole screen thanks to the use of a projection system consisting of 6 Barco Galaxy projectors of 12,000 ANSI lumens each, arranged on the perimeter of the screen; a Zeiss PowerDome graphic generator that allows the generation of digital content; and a Uniview display platform and astronomical simulator, which gives a representation of the whole universe with its extensive 3-D astronomical database that includes NASA models and a comprehensive list of stars.
