An initiative started by the City of Arts and Sciences for the second year running that aimed to encourage a scientific and technological vocation among secondary school students or those from other training and educational courses. Over 300 students from 50 schools of the Region of Valencia participated this year.

This is a contest organised together with the Regional Education Department and the cooperation of the Valencia Polytechnic University, Jaume I University and the Valencia University, and has been sponsored by Omron Electronics Iberia S.A.

Apatar-3D, EEC RACING, Chocolatero o Algarrobot were some of the robots designed and built by the valencian students for being the fastest and best constructed, calibrated and programmed device. In this way the aim is the dissemination and use of new technologies by children and young people in the form of participation in an activity that is both practical and leisure-orientated.

'Robot Challenge' is divided into three categories: Lego, Open and Special. In both modalities of competition, the robots will have to take speed and rescue tests, whereas in the third and last category, the Special one, every team will be able to present from 1 to 10 robots at the maximum in order to finish the test, which will be exclusively of dance and which will allow to create a choreography among them. A trade fair also took place on the same day in which institutions participated together with companies linked with robotics.
