City of Arts and Sciences - Valencian Community Foundation

The City of Arts and Sciences - Valencian Community Foundation, constituted by the City of the Arts and the Sciences, have the key objectives of dissemination, encouragement, promotion support and development of science, technology, art and of all the scientific, cultural, educational, social, environmental, artistic involvements or another nature related with and the activities to develop in the complex of the City of the Arts and Sciences.

Throughout the year, the Chair Santiago Grisolía organizes different symposiums and scientific high-level congresses with international participation. The Foundation programmes diverse cycles of conferences and cultural diffusion activities aimed at the general public. They are prominent also the coordination of the Science Week in the Valencian Community and the publication of the IDEA magazine, among other projects, supporting this way the set of proposes and exhibition contents of the City of the Arts and the Sciences.

Also the Foundation organizes the annual session of the IDEA Prizes. Within the last five years this awards have rewarded young teachers, researchers or creators from the Valencian Community in the categories of Basic Sciences; Technologies, and Social Sciences, Communication, Art and Humanities. The aim of the prizes is to support the research work developed by the university centres and technological institutes, stimulating efforts of young scientists in this area, as well as to be a tool of diffusion and promotion support of science and culture.

It is necessary to highlight the vocation of the Foundation to become the link between the City of the Arts and Sciences and the valencian society, with the spirit of being a transmitter of culture and science. The Foundation offers companies and institutions various forms of collaboration in various categories of corporate members. In the same way they can collaborate with the City of Arts and Sciences by sponsoring its activities, exhibitions, and facilities through the Foundation.

The companies and institutions that participate in the work of the Foundation as corporate members lend their name and their brand image to this great project and to the activities that take place within it. The identity of these companies and institutions will be associated with the encouragement, promotion, and dissemination of culture, science, and technology, thus increasing their prestige and recognition on a national and international scale.
