In addition to content focusing on interactive science and knowledge about nature, the City of Arts and Sciences hosts events that help to create wealth, employment and to stimulate economic activity.
In this complex we can find places equipped with the latest technology, extensive outdoor areas with esplanades and lakes, as well as multi-purpose facilities that cater to different needs, all in an environment created by the imaginative genius of Santiago Calatrava. It is a representative symbol for the Valencia Community Region both in Spain and abroad, and its widespread appearance in the media attracts new tourists to our region.
Among the events held in its facilities: the Tennis Open 500, the Spanish Global Champions Tour Grand Prix, free MTV Winter concerts, and the Valencia Fashion Week.

31 DIVINA PASTORA MARATHON
The popular athletics phenomenon has become a point of reference in bringing sport to the masses. This is nowhere better exemplified than in the Marathon. These mythological 42,195 kilometres provide us with an impressive demonstration of the qualities needed to excel in any sporting arena: personal endurance and perseverance.

Valencia Fashion Week
Valencia Fashion Week is an event of recognized prestige and launch pad for young artists Valencia design, the future of fashion. From 15th to 18th February 2012, the Valencia fashion catwalk was at the Ágora of the City of Arts and Sciences in order to presenting the prêt-à-porter collections looking to the next winter 2013.
Sporting event
Valencia Open 500
The City of Arts and Sciences Agora hosted the Valencia Tennis Open 500, a major international sporting event. In November 2009, 2010 and 2011 this building successfully held the tournaments in which the world¿s best tennis players challenge each other.
