This building has been conceived as a very versatile multifunctional space for holding different types of events.
The new icon of the City of Arts and Sciences is a versatile space that will allow the holding of varied events. A multi-functional setting has been planned for the staging of congresses, conventions, concerts, and performances; it can also be converted into an exhibition area.This building hosted successfully the Valencia Open 500 Tennis Tournament, one of the most important international sports meetings.
In 2010, the Ágora became the stage for the Freestyle Burn Spanish Cup, a competition in which the best Spanish and international riders take part. Also the Christmas Special Programme took place in this building, with an ice skating rink and children shows.
The Ágora building held other activities such an artistic event with Juan Ripollés and Willy Ramos. They created three pictures, one of which was based on an open theme of their choice that they painted with four hands. In addition, each artist chose a photo from the City of Arts and Sciences and interpreted the picture in their own artistic way. The three works were donated to Valencia's Casa de la Caridad charity body for auction.
It should be note that the Ágora hosted the Valencia Fashion Week (VFW), where Valencian designers show their fashion ideas.
